- Blocking Spam & Adjusting Filter Settings
We offer built-in Spam and Virus filtering that works with ANY email program you prefer -- from our own custom Gmail to your choice of Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird and more -- by automatically diverting messages that are suspected of being Spam to the Spam folder in our webmail interface and keeping them out of your Inbox.
You can review items in the Spam folder to ensure that they are Spam, or select the Not Spam button to forward them to your Inbox.
Our system deletes emails that are detected to contain a virus so they are not accessible.
When you get unsolicited emails, you can login to the webmail interface to mark them as spam, which will help the spam filters to automatically flag those emails as spam in the future.
You can also adjust your filters to take certain actions like delete emails that are from certain email addresses, contain specific words in the subject or body of the email, etc.
To get started, login to your GSC email account through our webmail interface and follow the instructions below. You can also contact our 24/7 tech support team at (888)-896-7824.
Removing Spam:
To remove spam from your inbox:
- Select the unwanted message by clicking the check box located directly left of the sender's name in your inbox.
- Click the 'Spam' button located along the top of your inbox.
- Click Spam along the left side of any webmail page. (If you don't see Spam along the left side of your webmail page, go to the Labels tab in Settings, then click the show link next to the Spam label.)
- Select the messages you'd like to delete and click Delete forever.
- Or delete everything by clicking Delete all spam messages now.
The more spam you mark, the better our system will get at weeding out those annoying messages. If you or we should happen to goof and mark a good message as spam, click Not Spam at the top of the message. If you marked it as spam, you can also click Undo immediately after to recover the message.
To Create A Filter:
- Click on the 'Settings' link on the top right of your webmail window and then select 'filters'.
- Enter the email address of the sender in the appropriate field.
- You can click 'Test Search' to see which messages currently match your filter terms, OR you can just click 'Next Step'.
- Select one or more actions from the list, including 'Skip the Inbox' or 'Delete it'. These actions will be applied to messages matching your filter criteria.
- Click 'Create Filter'. You can create a filter for each address that you would like to block.
To Edit or Delete Existing Filters:
- Click on the 'Settings' link on the top right of your webmail window.
- Click 'Filters'.
- Find the filter you'd like to change and click its edit link, or click delete to remove the filter.
- If you're editing the filter, enter the updated criteria for the filter in the appropriate fields, and click 'Next Step'.
- Update any actions and click 'Update Filter'.
