Beware of Fake Credit Repair

Credit repair scammers target financially distressed consumers with credit problems and falsely claim they’ll remove negative information from credit reports — such as bankruptcies, liens, and bad loans — even if that information is accurate. Consumers may be convinced to make a large upfront payment for credit repair, then receive little or nothing in return. Help spread the word that this is a scam!
