Beware of Student Loan Forgiveness Scams

December 5, 2022

Nearly 43 million Americans are eligible for student loan relief, according to White House estimates. To scammers, that means a big pool of potential victims.

To protect yourself:

  1. Don’t pay anyone to obtain debt relief or loan forgiveness. The application is free.
  2. Don’t reveal your FSA ID or account information or password to anyone who contacts you.

To learn more about what to do to protect yourself, check out Safeguarding Our Customers from our November eNewsletter. You can also sign up to receive our future emails.
