Yes, you may use your own compatible router or modem if you choose. The router would need to have a wan/internet port and be able to be set up for a PPPoE connection. From a technical support perspective, however, we do encourage customers to use our own modem/router combos. GSC routers include technical support from our agents, a router set with remote access so that we can offer a higher level of support including firmware upgrades, and repair/replacement of any GSC router found to be defective, and free premises visits by a technician in the event of Internet connection trouble.* With 3rd party routers we are limited in our ability to troubleshoot connection issues.
